dichroic material is a modern composite non-translucent glass that is produced by stacking layers of glass and micro-layers of metals or oxides which give the glass shifting colors depending on the angle of view, causing an array of colors to be displayed as an example of thin-film optics.
The pendant comes with a leather neck piece free of charge. If you would prefer a sterling silver chain please email me as I have a variety to choose from. You will need to pay extra for a S/S chain.

Sterling Silver is an easy care metal it just requires a soft cloth to clean with. Just rub it and you will start to see black coming onto your cloth. Sterling is 92.5% silver and the rest is copper as pure silver is very soft. So it is the copper content that sends Sterling Silver a darker colour.
